A three button blazer by belgian designer dirk van saene. Made from an unbleached cotton canvas, it has a 3 button front placket with a high break, notch lapels that have more in common stylistically with a peacoat than a traditional blazer, flap pockets at the waist, and darting through the body for shape.
The blazer was produced for spring/summer 1999, and it has been stamped near the left hem with text explaining that it is a "shrink to fit" garment (see picture). The text reads: "wash at high temperature / this garment will shrink to fit your size / no ironing". "Shrink to fit" is a term, and process, usually applied to , which could be purchased unwashed/without sanforisation and then, once washed in hot water, worn on the body as the garment dried to fit it to your size. It is less common to see a shrink to fit blazer.
There is a small stain to the lining of the blazer (see last picture). It is unclear whether a prior owner has already shrunk to fit the blazer to them.
